Hello there! I’m Connie Veneracion, retired lawyer and newspaper columnist. I created Tasty Safari in 2018 a month after my 55th birthday. It’s a travel diary organized into three sections: travel stories, food tales and travel-inspired recipes. The full version of what it is, what it isn’t and what it might be is in the “about” page.
Why I created it consists two parts. First, Tasty Safari is my way of exercising a muscle that so many tend to neglect. The brain. It does need a proper and regular workout to stay in shape and scare dementia away. Second, it’s about finding a “high” after retirement. Some women knit, others take up a new hobby like dancing or painting… I travel to eat and write about food. That is my “high”.
P. S. Given the current situation, I’m on travel hiatus, but still cooking and posting travel-inspired recipes.
